Family Tour Packages in Pakistan 2026
Group tours, private family trips and family tours abroad
Our family tour packages start in Lahore, and families from Islamabad join on the way. You can join a group tour by Toyota Coaster, where children aged 3 to 9 pay a lower child price, children under 3 travel free, and your family has a room of its own. Or you can take a private trip by car with a driver, on your own dates and at your children's pace. For a trip abroad, we run family tours to Turkey, Azerbaijan and Malaysia, and Umrah packages where a family of four shares one room.
Murree, Naran, Swat and Hunza are the places families ask us about most. Murree is a short drive with no jeeps or high passes, so it suits babies and grandparents. Naran and Swat have lakes, boats, horses and chairlifts for children of school age. Hunza and Skardu take two days by road each way and are best once the children are about five.
Family tour packages from Lahore
What a family tour costs for 2 adults and 2 children
Prices on our group tours are per person, from Lahore, and the same if you join in Islamabad. Children aged 3 to 9 pay the child price, and children under 3 travel free. A family travelling together gets its own room. Because it is a bigger room, it costs about PKR 2,000 a night more than a normal room. The last column adds it all up for two adults and two children aged 3 to 9.
| Group tour | Days | Per adult | Per child 3 to 9 | Family of 4, own room |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Murree | 2 days | PKR 12,500 | PKR 9,000 | PKR 45,000 |

Group tour or private car: which suits your family?
A group tour costs much less, and children usually enjoy the company of other families on the coaster. A private trip costs more but goes at your pace: you stop when a child is car sick or asleep, start late after a bad night, and skip a jeep ride that does not suit a toddler.
| Group tour by coaster | Private car with driver | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Per person, lower price for children 3 to 9 | Per family, for the car and the rooms |
| Dates | Set departures through the season | Any dates you choose |
| Start | 11 pm from Thokar Niaz Baig or Barkat Market, Lahore | A time and pickup point we agree with you |
| Pace | The same plan for the whole group | Stops whenever the children need them |
| Room | Your own family room, about PKR 2,000 a night extra | A family room in every hotel |
| Best for | Families on a budget, and children who like company | Babies and toddlers, grandparents, families of five or more |
Private family trip prices from Lahore
These are prices for the whole family of two adults and two children, from Lahore. They include the car with a driver, fuel, motorway tolls, the driver's food and stay, and a family room with breakfast every night. Lunch, dinner, local jeeps, chairlifts, boats and entry tickets are paid as you go. We do not provide child car seats, so bring your own if your child uses one.
For a bigger family, grandparents or a different route, send us the number of travellers and the children's ages, and we quote the right car. The Honda BR-V seats six besides the driver, and the Toyota Prado is the most comfortable on the Karakoram Highway. Our rent a car page lists the cars and daily rates.
| Private trip | Days | Car | Family of 4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Murree and Patriata | 2 days | Toyota Corolla | PKR 85,000 |

Which place suits which age
The long drive, the height of the passes and the jeep tracks matter more with children than the place itself. Murree suits every age, including babies. Naran and Swat are fine from about three, if you skip the longest jeep rides with toddlers. For Hunza and Skardu, five and up is easier, because each way takes two days on the road.
| Place | From Lahore | Highest point | Jeeps and walking | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Murree | 5 to 6 hours | About 2,290 m | No jeeps; easy walks on Mall Road | All ages, babies too |
| Naran Kaghan | 10 to 12 hours | Babusar Top, 4,173 m, a short stop | Jeep to Lake Saif-ul-Malook | From about 3 |
| Swat and Kalam | 10 to 11 hours to Kalam | About 2,000 m at Kalam | Jeep to Mahodand Lake, 2 to 3 hours each way | All ages; skip Mahodand with babies |
| Neelum Valley | 10 to 12 hours to Keran | Ratti Gali Lake, about 3,700 m | Jeep and a walk for Ratti Gali; chairlift and a steep path at Arang Kel | Keran and Sharda for all ages; Ratti Gali from about 8 |
| Hunza | 2 days, with a night on the way | Khunjerab Pass, 4,693 m | Paved road; boats at Attabad Lake | From about 5 |
| Skardu | 2 days, with a night in Chilas | Deosai plains, above 4,000 m | Jeep for Deosai | From about 6 |
| Kumrat | 11 to 12 hours to Thal | Katora Lake, about 3,500 m | Jeep past Thal, tents, a long walk to Katora | Teenagers and active families |
Best time for a family trip: school holidays and Eid
Summer holidays, June to August, are the main season for Naran, Hunza, Skardu and Kalam. Babusar Top usually opens in mid-June, so June and early July are the best weeks for the drive over it. July and August bring monsoon rain, and landslides can close a road for a few hours, so we check the roads before every departure. These weeks and the Eid holidays fill first, so book three to four weeks ahead.
Winter holidays in late December are for snow. Murree usually has snow from December to February, and Malam Jabba in Swat has snow and its ski slope. The roads over Babusar and to Kalam's lakes are closed, so the far north is off the list until spring. December is also a good month to go abroad: Malaysia's west coast is at its best from December to March, and Turkey has snow in Cappadocia.
Spring, April and May, is quieter if the children's exams allow it. Hunza has its apricot blossom in April, and Murree and Swat are green and mild.
On the road with children: what to expect
Our group tours leave Lahore at 11 pm, so most children sleep through the motorway part of the drive. Families from Islamabad are picked up on the way in the early hours. The coaster stops for washrooms, meals and prayers along the way. Tell the guide if a child needs an extra stop.
Travel sickness on mountain roads
The roads through the Kaghan valley, over Babusar Top and along the Karakoram Highway have many bends. Seat children near the front, give them a light meal before the mountain stretch, and keep screens and books away while the road is winding. Ask your doctor about travel sickness medicine for children before you leave.
Altitude
Babusar Top is 4,173 m, the Khunjerab Pass is 4,693 m and the Deosai plains are above 4,000 m. A short stop is fine for most children, but keep it short with babies and toddlers. If a child has a headache, feels sick or becomes unusually sleepy, go back down; that is the cure. Ask your doctor before taking an infant above 4,000 m.
Food, water and washrooms
Hotels in the north serve Pakistani food, and most kitchens will make a plain dish for a child if you ask. Carry snacks, cereal and milk powder for small children, because there are few shops on the long stretches between towns. Drink bottled water. Motorway service areas have clean washrooms; on mountain roads they are basic, so carry tissues and hand sanitiser.
Medical help, cash and documents
Mansehra, Mingora, Gilgit and Skardu have hospitals; smaller towns have basic clinics. Bring the children's medicines, a thermometer and oral rehydration salts. ATMs are few above Balakot, Mingora and Muzaffarabad, so carry cash. Every adult needs an original CNIC for the check posts, and children need their B-form.
Rivers, lakes and jeeps
The rivers in Swat, Naran and Neelum are fast and very cold, so keep children away from the banks. Before a boat ride on Lake Saif-ul-Malook or Attabad Lake, ask for a life jacket that fits each child. On jeep tracks, keep small children inside the cabin, never in the open back.
Packing list for a family trip to the north
Even in July, nights in Naran, Hunza and Kalam are cold, and the passes can be close to freezing. Pack layers you can add and remove in the coaster or car.
- A warm jacket, woollen cap and socks for each child
- A shawl, small pillow or blanket for the night drive
- Comfortable shoes, and a rain jacket in July and August
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and caps; the sun is strong at height
- Travel sickness medicine, the children's usual medicines and a thermometer
- Snacks, milk powder, a water bottle per child and wet wipes
- A power bank and offline maps; signal is patchy
- Original CNICs, the children's B-form and some cash
- A child car seat of your own, if you take a private car

Azerbaijan with children
The flight from Lahore to Baku is about four hours, and the e-visa takes about three working days. The 7-day family tour has family rooms, a van only for your family and two nights in the mountains at Shahdag and Gabala. See our Azerbaijan tour packages.
Turkey with children
The 7-day Turkey tour fits a week of school holidays, with four nights in Istanbul, a ferry to the Princes' Islands and a flight to Antalya. Rooms take 3 people, and families of four or five can ask for a family room. See our Turkey tour packages.
Umrah with family
A family of four can share one room on our Umrah package, and many pilgrims travel with elderly parents. Tell us about anyone who needs a wheelchair or a short walk to the Haram. See our Umrah packages.

Family tour packages: FAQs
How much is a family tour package in Pakistan?
On our group tours, a family of two adults and two children aged 3 to 9 pays PKR 45,000 for 2 days in Murree, PKR 49,000 for 3 days in Naran and PKR 100,000 for 5 days in Hunza, with a room of its own. Private family trips by car with a driver start at PKR 85,000 for 2 days in Murree.
Do children pay the full price?
No. On our group tours, children aged 3 to 9 pay the child price shown on each tour page, and children under 3 travel free. From age 10 children pay the adult price. On trips abroad, children need their own air ticket and visa, so we price them by age.
Does our family get its own room on a group tour?
Yes. Other travellers share rooms of 3 to 4 people, but a family travelling together gets a room of its own. Because it is a bigger room, it costs about PKR 2,000 a night more than a normal room.
Can we take a private car instead of the group coaster?
Yes. We run private family trips by car with a driver, on your dates, from a Toyota Corolla for a small family to a Honda BR-V or Toyota Prado for bigger ones. The price covers the car, fuel, tolls, the driver and family rooms with breakfast.
Do you provide child car seats?
No. If your child uses a car seat, bring your own for a private car trip. The group coasters have ordinary seats with no car seat fittings.
Show 11 more questions
Which place in Pakistan is best for a family trip?
Murree is the easiest, with a short drive and no jeeps or high passes. Naran and Swat are the favourites for children of school age, with lakes, boats, horses and chairlifts. Hunza is the most beautiful, but it takes two days by road each way, so it suits children from about five.
Where should we go with a baby or toddler?
Murree, or a private trip to Swat or Naran without the long jeep rides. Avoid long stays above 4,000 m with babies, and take a private car if you can, so you can stop for feeds and naps.
How many days are enough for a family trip to the north?
Two days for Murree, three days for Naran or Swat with an overnight drive from Lahore, and five to seven days for Hunza or Skardu. With small children, add a day to any private trip so the drives are shorter.
Is it safe to travel to the northern areas with family?
Yes. Naran, Swat, Hunza and Murree are busy family destinations every summer. The real risks are the roads, the rivers and the weather, so we check the roads before every departure, our drivers know the routes, and we change the plan if a road is closed.
Is altitude a problem for children?
Short stops at Babusar Top, the Khunjerab Pass or Deosai are fine for most children. Keep them short with babies, and if a child gets a headache, feels sick or turns unusually sleepy, go back down. Ask your doctor before taking an infant above 4,000 m.
Are there clean washrooms on the way?
Motorway service areas have clean washrooms. On the mountain roads they are basic, at restaurants and petrol stations, so carry tissues and hand sanitiser. The coaster stops for washrooms, meals and prayers along the way.
What is the best time for a family trip?
June to August for Naran, Hunza, Skardu and Kalam, during the summer holidays. December to February for snow in Murree and Malam Jabba. April and May are quieter and mild, if exams allow.
Can we join the tour from Islamabad?
Yes. Our group tours pick up families from Islamabad on the way north at no extra charge, at the same price as from Lahore. Private trips can start from Islamabad or any other city.
Can grandparents come on a family tour?
Yes. For grandparents, a private car is more comfortable, because you set the pace and the stops. Tell us about anyone who finds walking or stairs hard, and we plan the day around them.
Do you have family tour packages abroad?
Yes. We run a 5-day Kuala Lumpur and Genting family tour, a 7-day Azerbaijan family tour, 7 and 10 day Turkey tours, and a 20-day Umrah package where a family of four shares one room. All include flights, the visa, hotels and a guide.
How do we book, and what if we have to cancel?
Send us the number of adults, the children's ages and your dates on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. A 30% advance confirms the booking. Cancel more than 7 days before departure and we refund 75%; 5 to 7 days before, 50%; in the last 4 days, nothing.
