Nanga Parbat above the pine forest and meadow at Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows Tour Packages 2026 from Lahore

Private trips from Lahore, Islamabad or any city, on request

Our Fairy Meadows tour packages are planned on request from Lahore, with pickup in Islamabad or any other city in Pakistan. We drive you over Babusar Top to Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway, arrange the local jeep up to Tato and a hut at the meadow, and plan two nights facing Nanga Parbat. Most trips take 5 days from Lahore, or 8 days and more with Hunza. This is the Fairy Meadows below Nanga Parbat in Gilgit-Baltistan, not Neel Fairy Meadows in Azad Kashmir.

Prices for our Fairy Meadows trips are being confirmed for the season, so there are no fixed packages or prices on this page yet. Send us your dates, the number of people and the city you start from on WhatsApp or through the contact page, and we will send back a day plan and a price.

For a fixed-date group trip, our Gilgit Baltistan tour packages pass Raikot Bridge on the way to Hunza, but they do not go up to the meadow.

Places to visit at Fairy Meadows

The meadow is the base. Most of our guests use the full day to walk higher for closer views of the mountain.

Huts and camps around the meadow at Fairy Meadows, seen from above

Fairy Meadows

The meadow, known locally as Joot, is a wide grassy clearing in pine forest at about 3,300 m, with huts and camps around its edge. It is 2.5 to 4 hours on foot from Tato. Stay two nights to see the mountain at sunrise and sunset; on calm mornings it reflects in a small pond.

Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway

Raikot Bridge

Raikot Bridge is the Indus crossing on the Karakoram Highway where the track begins, with a jeep stand, tea shops and parking. It is 1 to 1.5 hours from Chilas or 2 hours from Gilgit. It is hot and dusty in summer, so keep a jacket for the top.

The valley and trail near Tato village on the way to Fairy Meadows

Tato village

Tato is the small village at the end of the jeep track, at about 2,600 m, with fields and a hot spring. Porters and horses wait near the jeep stop, and the 5 km walk starts here. Set off early, while the trail is cool.

A stream at Beyal Camp with Nanga Parbat at sunset

Beyal Camp

Beyal Camp is a small cluster of huts in the forest 1.5 to 2 hours above the meadow, quieter and closer to the mountain. The walk is gentle for most of the way. In June there may still be snow on the path.

Nanga Parbat and the Raikot Glacier from the viewpoint above Beyal Camp

Nanga Parbat viewpoint

The viewpoint is a ridge above the Raikot Glacier, beyond Beyal Camp, 2.5 to 3 hours from the meadow. Most people go and come back in a day. Start early, before cloud builds over the peaks in the afternoon; July to September is best.

Stone shelters at the Raikot side base camp of Nanga Parbat

Nanga Parbat Base Camp

The Raikot-side base camp is at about 4,000 m, past the viewpoint along the moraine: 8 to 10 hours there and back, or two days with a night at Beyal. It is not technical but needs fitness, so tell us in advance and we add a night. Our blog on the hike to Nanga Parbat base camp describes the trail.

How our Fairy Meadows tour packages work

Every Fairy Meadows trip we run is private: your own car and driver for the whole trip, starting from Lahore, Islamabad or any other city in Pakistan, on the dates you pick. We plan the route around the season, book the Raikot Bridge jeep and the huts at the meadow, and keep the car waiting at Raikot Bridge while you are up the mountain.

A couple or a small family fits in one car; for a larger group we suggest the right vehicle. We do not publish hut or hotel names: they are booked on availability for your dates and confirmed before departure.

  • Start: Lahore, Islamabad or any other city, on your dates
  • Transport: your own car and driver to Raikot Bridge and back
  • Up the mountain: local jeep to Tato, then a 5 km walk or a horse
  • Nights at the meadow: two, in a wooden hut or cottage
  • Add-ons: Beyal Camp, the Nanga Parbat viewpoint, Hunza, Naran

Who a Fairy Meadows trip suits

Anyone who can walk uphill for about three hours, or ride a horse. Families with children go every summer; smaller children ride or are carried by porters, and older travellers usually ride up and walk down slowly. The jeep track is exposed, so it is not for anyone with a strong fear of heights. Couples often add Fairy Meadows to a Hunza honeymoon.

What a Fairy Meadows trip includes and what you pay on the spot

Your quote lists exactly what is in the price, usually the car and driver for the whole trip, your rooms in Naran and at the meadow, and the Raikot Bridge jeep booked for your group. Porters, horses, trail tea and tips are paid in cash on the spot, at rates set locally each season. The table shows how each cost is charged.

Fairy Meadows and Hunza tour: 8 days or more

Raikot Bridge is about 80 km south of Gilgit, and Hunza is another 2 to 2.5 hours up the Karakoram Highway. Plan 8 days or more from Lahore: two nights at Fairy Meadows, two or three in Hunza with Attabad Lake and the Khunjerab Pass, and a night in Naran each way. For Hunza alone, see our Hunza tour packages.

Best time to visit Fairy Meadows

June to September. The huts open in late May or June and close in October, when the snow returns. July and August are the warmest and busiest months, and in June there may be snow on the path to Beyal and base camp. September has the clearest skies and fewer people. From November to April the meadow is under snow, the huts are shut, and we do not plan trips there.

How to reach Fairy Meadows from Lahore and Islamabad

Every route ends at Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway, 1 to 1.5 hours north of Chilas and about 2 hours south of Gilgit. In summer we drive the M-2 and Hazara Motorway to Mansehra, the N-15 through Naran, and over Babusar Top to Chilas. When Babusar is closed, the slower road through Besham and Kohistan needs a night in Chilas. Flying Islamabad to Gilgit saves a day, but flights are often cancelled.

The Raikot Bridge jeep track to Tato

Private cars are not allowed on the track. It is about 15 km long, climbs roughly 1,300 m and is cut into a cliff above the gorge, with room for one jeep in most places. The ride takes 1.5 to 2 hours in local union jeeps, and the fare is fixed per jeep for the return trip each season. If you are nervous on heights, sit on the hill side.

The hike from Tato to Fairy Meadows

From the jeep stop just past Tato the trail is about 5 km and climbs around 700 m. Most people take about three hours, through open slopes and then pine forest, with tea stalls on the way. Porters and horses wait at Tato; if you are not used to walking uphill, ride up and walk down.

Before you go: huts, signal, cash, safety and packing

There are no hotels at the meadow, only wooden huts, cottages and tents run by local families. Rooms are simple, with heavy quilts and hot water by the bucket. Power comes from solar panels and small water turbines, often only for a few evening hours. A SCOM SIM may get a weak signal; other networks usually do not work, so tell family you will be offline.

There are no ATMs past Chilas, and everything at the meadow is cash. Keep your CNIC, or a B-form for children, for the checkpoints. The meadow is safe and popular with families; the risk is the jeep track, so we do not send guests up or down after heavy rain until the drivers say it is clear. At 3,300 m nights are cold even in July, and anyone with a heart or breathing condition should ask a doctor first.

  • A warm jacket, cap and gloves for the nights
  • A rain jacket for July and August
  • Walking shoes with good grip
  • A torch and a charged power bank
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a water bottle
  • Snacks for the walk and your own medicines

Fairy Meadows tour packages FAQs

How much do Fairy Meadows tour packages from Lahore cost?

We quote our Fairy Meadows tour packages for your dates, because the price depends on the number of people, the car, the nights and the starting city. Prices for this season are being confirmed, so send us your dates on WhatsApp and we will reply with a plan and a price. The Raikot jeep fare is set locally each season, and we confirm it in the quote.

How many days do you need for a Fairy Meadows tour from Lahore?

Five days: one to drive to Naran, one over Babusar Top to Raikot Bridge and up to the meadow, a full day for Beyal Camp and the viewpoint, one down and back to Naran, and one home. With Hunza added, plan 8 days or more. From Islamabad, a short trip can be done in 4 days.

Where does the trip start, and can I join from Islamabad?

Our Fairy Meadows trips are private, so they start where you are: Lahore, Islamabad or any other city in Pakistan. From Lahore the route goes up the M-2 past Islamabad, so picking up family members there on the way is easy. Tell us every pickup point when you enquire and we build them into the plan.

Do you run a group tour to Fairy Meadows?

Not on fixed dates at the moment. Our fixed-date group tours from Lahore go to Hunza and pass Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway, with a stop at the Nanga Parbat viewpoint, but they do not go up to the meadow. For Fairy Meadows we plan private trips. Message us on WhatsApp to hear when group dates are confirmed.

How far is Fairy Meadows from Islamabad and Lahore?

Raikot Bridge, where the jeep track starts, is about 410 km from Islamabad, 8 to 9 hours over Babusar Top in summer, and about 770 km or two days from Lahore. Add 1.5 to 2 hours for the jeep and 2.5 to 4 hours for the hike, so most people stop a night in Naran or Chilas on the way.

Show 13 more questions

Can we go to Fairy Meadows by car?

Only to Raikot Bridge. Your car or ours stops on the Karakoram Highway at Raikot Bridge, because private cars are not allowed on the jeep track to Tato. A local jeep takes you about 15 km up to Tato in 1.5 to 2 hours, and the last 5 km to the meadow is on foot or on horseback.

How long are the jeep ride and the hike to Fairy Meadows?

The jeep ride from Raikot Bridge to Tato is about 15 km and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. The hike from the jeep stop to Fairy Meadows is about 5 km and takes 2.5 to 4 hours, with around 700 m of climbing. Most people take about three hours with tea stops. Horses and porters are available at Tato.

Is the Raikot Bridge jeep road safe?

The track is narrow and exposed, but local drivers run it every day of the season. We only use the licensed union jeeps, and we do not send guests up or down after heavy rain until the drivers say the track is clear. Most of the risk is rockfall in wet weather, so mornings are better than afternoons in July and August.

How much does the Raikot Bridge jeep cost?

The fare is set by the local jeep union each season and is charged per jeep for the return trip, not per person, so a full jeep splits it. It has risen several times in recent years, so check the current rate at Raikot Bridge or ask us. On a trip with us, the confirmed jeep fare is part of the quote.

Can children and older people do the hike?

Yes, with horses and porters. Children who can walk for three hours manage the 5 km trail, and smaller children ride or are carried. Older travellers usually ride up and walk down slowly. Nights are cold at 3,300 m, so pack warm clothes, and anyone with a heart or breathing condition should ask a doctor before booking.

Where do we stay at Fairy Meadows, and how many share a room?

In a wooden hut or cottage at the meadow, run by local families. There are no hotels. On a private trip your group has its own room or rooms, and we book a mountain-facing hut where one is free. Huts are confirmed before departure, based on availability. In Naran you stay in a hotel on the way up and back.

Is there mobile signal and electricity at Fairy Meadows?

Very little. A SCOM SIM sometimes gets a weak signal in the evening, and other networks usually do not work. Power comes from solar panels and small water turbines, often only for a few hours after dark. Bring a charged power bank and a torch, and expect to be offline for a day or two.

Do we go to Beyal Camp or Nanga Parbat base camp?

Beyal Camp and the viewpoint over the Raikot Glacier are part of our usual plan for the full day at the meadow: 1.5 to 2 hours to Beyal and 2.5 to 3 hours to the viewpoint. Nanga Parbat base camp, at about 4,000 m, takes 8 to 10 hours there and back, so we add an extra night if you want it.

Can Fairy Meadows be combined with Hunza?

Yes. Raikot Bridge is about 80 km south of Gilgit on the Karakoram Highway, and Hunza is 2 to 2.5 hours beyond Gilgit. A trip of 8 days or more from Lahore gives two nights at Fairy Meadows, two or three in Hunza with Attabad Lake and the Khunjerab Pass, and a night in Naran each way.

When is the best time to visit Fairy Meadows, and is it open in winter?

June to September. The huts open in late May or June and close in October. July and August are the warmest and busiest months, and September has the clearest views. From November to April Fairy Meadows is under snow and the huts and jeeps stop, so we do not plan trips there in winter.

What should I pack for Fairy Meadows?

A warm jacket, cap and gloves, because nights at 3,300 m are cold even in July. Add a rain jacket, walking shoes with grip, a torch, a power bank, sunscreen and a water bottle. Carry cash for porters, horses and tea, as there are no ATMs past Chilas, and keep your CNIC for the checkpoints.

Can you see the summit of Nanga Parbat from Fairy Meadows?

Not quite. The top you see from Fairy Meadows is the North Peak of Nanga Parbat, at about 7,816 m; the main summit, 8,126 m, is hidden behind it. The whole Raikot Face still rises above the meadow, and it turns pink and gold at sunrise and sunset on clear days.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

A 30% advance confirms your trip and the rest is paid at departure. If you cancel more than 7 days before departure, we refund 75% of what you paid; 5 to 7 days before, we refund 50%. Cancellations in the last 4 days and no-shows are not refunded.
