Day 4

Deosai plains and Sheosar Lake

A jeep day. After breakfast local jeeps climb past Sadpara Lake to the Deosai plains, one of the highest plateaus in the world at about 4,000 m. We stop at Deosai Top, Kala Pani and Bara Pani and drive on to Sheosar Lake if the track is open. We come back to Skardu for a BBQ dinner and a bonfire. If Deosai is closed, the day goes to Sadpara Lake and Kharpocho Fort instead.

Day 5

Skardu to Hunza and Baltit Fort

After breakfast we drive back along the Indus to the Karakoram Highway and north through Gilgit, with a stop at the Rakaposhi viewpoint. In the evening we reach Karimabad, with time to walk up to Baltit Fort (ticket not included) and through the bazaar. Dinner and the night are in Hunza.

Day 6

Attabad Lake, Passu and the Khunjerab Pass

We leave at 6 am after an early breakfast and drive north through the Pak-China friendship tunnels to Attabad Lake, the Passu Cones and the Hussaini suspension bridge. It was an amazing tour with Pakistan Travel Diaries. 5 Days Hunza tour was like a dream, I can not believe how the time flew over there, these 5 days were the best days. Every thing was properly managed, time, food, accommodation, traveling. The CEO Abuzar is not less than a Super Hero, the way he managed every thing was so smooth. He is like Jinny, call his name and he is in front of you asking "what can I do for you". It was a memorable tour. โฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‡

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the tour leave from in Lahore?

The coaster leaves at 11 pm from Thokar Niaz Baig or Barkat Market, and Islamabad guests are picked up around 3 am. We confirm the exact pickup point and the departure date when you book. Departures from June to September, WhatsApp us for the next date. There is no extra charge for joining in Islamabad. The pickup point is near the motorway or GT Road so the coaster stays on its route, and we share the exact spot with booked guests before departure.

How much is the 8-day Hunza and Skardu tour?

PKR 38,000 per person in a room shared by 3 to 4 people. Children aged 3 to 9 pay PKR 26,500 and children under 3 travel free. A couple who want a room to themselves pay PKR 88,500 in total.

Are the jeeps to Deosai and Naltar included?

No. The coaster cannot go up those tracks, so local jeeps take the group. Their fare is set by the drivers on the day and shared by the people in each jeep. The Khunjerab Pass ticket is included.

Which hotels do you use?

Standard hotels in Chilas, Skardu and Hunza, booked on availability for your dates. We confirm the names a few days before departure. Rooms are shared by 3 to 4 people.

Is the altitude a problem?

Deosai is at about 4,000 m and the Khunjerab Pass at 4,693 m, but we only spend a short time at the top and sleep much lower, in Skardu and Hunza. Walk slowly at height and tell us before booking about any heart or breathing condition.

Show 6 more questions
Is lunch included?

No. Breakfast and dinner are included. For lunch we stop at a restaurant on the way, and you pay for your own.

What happens if I am late at the pickup point?

The coaster waits about 15 minutes and then leaves. A missed departure counts as a no-show and is not refunded, so please be at the pickup point on time.

Can I leave the tour early?

Yes, but the days you miss are not refunded, and the trip home from there is at your own cost.

What is the cancellation policy?

A 30% advance confirms your seat. Cancel more than 7 days before departure and we refund 75% of what you paid; 5 to 7 days before, we refund 50%. Cancellations in the last 4 days, and no-shows, are not refunded.

When is the best time to go on the Hunza and Skardu Tour 8 Days 7 Nights?

June to September. We drive over Babusar Top, which is usually open from mid-June to late September, and the Deosai plains are normally open from about July to September. Early or late in the season, when Babusar is closed, we go along the Karakoram Highway through Besham instead, which adds a few hours, and we tell you the plan before you pay the advance. If Deosai is still closed, that day goes to Sadpara Lake and Kharpocho Fort instead.

Is there a shorter, longer or different option than the Hunza and Skardu Tour 8 Days 7 Nights?

If you only have six days, our Skardu tour covers the same Skardu days without Hunza. For Hunza alone, our 5 and 6 day Hunza tours go to Attabad Lake and the Khunjerab Pass.
