A Baku trip from Pakistan costs about PKR 185,000 to 300,000 per person for 5 days, booked on your own from Lahore. The return flight is the biggest part, often more than half. Hotels, food and getting around Baku cost far less than most people expect, and a careful traveller can spend under 50 manat a day once there.

Prices in Azerbaijan are in manat (AZN). At the rate in late October 2026, one manat was about PKR 163 and one US dollar about 1.70 manat. Rupee figures are rounded.

Flights from Pakistan to Baku

Lahore has the most direct flights to Baku. Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), PIA and Airblue fly the route, and the flight takes about four hours. AZAL fares in October and November 2026 started around USD 240 to 290 one way, so a direct return is usually PKR 130,000 to 160,000, more in summer and on Eid dates.

With a stop in Sharjah, Dubai or Doha, returns from Lahore were around PKR 180,000 to 195,000 for August and September 2026, so the connection is not always cheaper. From Islamabad and Karachi, AZAL has flown direct in recent seasons; otherwise you connect through the Gulf. Book six to eight weeks ahead for the best fare.

Azerbaijan e-visa cost for Pakistanis

Pakistanis apply online for the ASAN e-visa before flying; there is no visa on arrival. The state fee is USD 20, and with the service fee the standard e-visa costs about USD 29, or about PKR 8,000, issued in about three working days. The urgent e-visa, issued in about three hours, costs about USD 50. It allows one entry and a stay of up to 30 days, and the fee is not refunded if the visa is refused.

A clean 3 star room in central Baku costs about 50 to 80 manat a night (PKR 8,000 to 13,000) for the room, and a 4 star room about 80 to 130 manat (PKR 13,000 to 21,000). Sharing a room halves the cost per person. Staying near the Old City or Nizami Street saves on taxis, because most of the sights are a walk away.

Prices rise in summer and around big events, and hotels in Gabala and Shahdag cost more in the ski season from December to March.

Food costs in Baku

Budget 15 to 30 manat a day (PKR 2,500 to 5,000) for food. Most hotels include breakfast, local restaurants serving kebab, plov and tea sit at the lower end, and restaurants on the Boulevard and in hotels at the top. Azerbaijan is a Muslim-majority country and halal food is the norm.

Inside Baku, the metro and buses are cheap and Bolt and Uber taxis work well; 10 to 20 manat a day (PKR 1,600 to 3,300) covers most travellers. The airport express bus runs to the city centre.

Day trips are where costs climb. Gobustan and the mud volcanoes are about an hour south, the Ateshgah and Yanar Dag fire sites are on the edge of the city, and Gabala and Shahdag are three to four hours away in the mountains. A shared tour or a car with a driver for the day is the most practical way to reach them, and the price depends on the group size.

How to spend less on a Baku trip

  • Fly from Lahore, where there are the most direct flights, and avoid Eid and school holiday dates.
  • Travel in April to June or September to October, when fares and hotels are lower than in July and August.
  • Take US dollars from Pakistan and change them in Baku; Pakistani rupees cannot be exchanged there.
  • Share rooms and day-trip cars; the mountain days cost the same for one person or four.
  • Walk the Old City, the Boulevard and Highland Park, which are free.
