Tour Overview

Our Hunza honeymoon package, 8 days and 7 nights, takes a married couple from Lahore to Hunza and the Chinese border by road in a private car. It goes up through Naran and over Babusar Top, and comes back through the Kaghan Valley to Shogran.

The first two nights are in Naran, with a jeep up to Lake Saif-ul-Malook. On day three you cross Babusar Top, pass the Nanga Parbat viewpoint and the point where three mountain ranges meet, and reach Nagar, near Rakaposhi, by night. From there you spend a day at Karimabad, Altit Fort and Attabad Lake, where a boat ride is included, and a day on the Karakoram Highway to Passu, Hussaini Bridge and the Khunjerab Pass at 4,693 m.

The return takes two days: a long drive back over Babusar to Naran, then a shorter one down to Shogran, with an afternoon at the Siri Paye meadows. On day eight you drive home to Lahore.

The price is PKR 125,000 per person, or PKR 250,000 for the couple. It covers the car and driver for all 8 days, seven nights in A-category hotels, the Saif-ul-Malook jeep, the Attabad Lake boat ride, the Khunjerab entry tickets and tolls.

Day by day

Hunza honeymoon package 8 days itinerary

Times are a guide and can shift with the road and the weather.

Day 1

Lahore to Naran

The driver picks you up from home in Lahore early in the morning and heads up the M-2 to Islamabad. If you live in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, or are flying in from Karachi, we collect you there at about 8 am instead. The Hazara Motorway takes us through the Abbottabad tunnels, with short stops at the Mansehra viewpoint and Kiwai Waterfall near Balakot, and then the road follows the Kunhar River to Naran. Check in, and walk through Naran Bazaar in the evening. Night in Naran.

Day 2

Lake Saif-ul-Malook by jeep

After breakfast a local jeep takes you up to Lake Saif-ul-Malook, about half an hour from Naran. Spend as long as you like at the lake for photos and a walk, then ride back down to Naran. Dinner at the hotel or in the bazaar, and a second night in Naran.

Day 3

Naran to Nagar over Babusar Top

After an early breakfast we drive north past Lulusar Lake to Babusar Top (4,173 m), then down to Chilas and the Karakoram Highway. On the way we stop at the point where the Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu Kush ranges meet and at the Nanga Parbat viewpoint. After a short stop in Gilgit city we drive on to Nagar, near Rakaposhi, and check in for dinner and the night. It is a long day on the road.

Day 4

Karimabad, Altit Fort and Attabad Lake

After breakfast we drive up to Karimabad in Hunza. Visit Altit Fort, around 1,000 years old, and walk through Karimabad Bazaar. Then we go up the Karakoram Highway through the Pakistan China Friendship Tunnels to Attabad Lake, which formed when a landslide blocked the Hunza River in 2010, for a boat ride on the water. In the evening we drive back to the hotel in Nagar for dinner and the night.

Day 5

Passu, Hussaini Bridge and the Khunjerab Pass

Today is the drive north to the Chinese border. We stop at the Passu Cones, the Batura Glacier and the Hussaini suspension bridge, pass through Sost and climb to the Khunjerab Pass at 4,693 m. It is cold at the top even in summer, so bring a warm layer. We drive back to Nagar for dinner and the night.

Day 6

Nagar to Naran

We leave Nagar early after breakfast for the long drive back down the Karakoram Highway and over Babusar Top into the Kaghan Valley. Check in at the hotel in Naran or Kaghan in the evening. Dinner and night there.

Day 7

Shogran and Siri Paye

After breakfast we drive down the valley to Kiwai and up to Shogran, arriving at about 12 pm. After check-in a local jeep takes you up to the Siri Paye meadows for the afternoon, with Makra Peak in view on a clear day, and brings you back to Shogran before dark. Night in Shogran.

Day 8

Shogran to Lahore

After breakfast we drive down to Balakot, with an optional stop at Kiwai Waterfall and a break by the Kunhar River. Guests from Islamabad or Rawalpindi are dropped home on the way, and couples flying out can be dropped in Islamabad. Otherwise we carry on to Lahore, eight to nine hours in all from Shogran.

It was an amazing tour with Pakistan Travel Diaries. 5 Days Hunza tour was like a dream, I can not believe how the time flew over there, these 5 days were the best days. Every thing was properly managed, time, food, accommodation, traveling. The CEO Abuzar is not less than a Super Hero, the way he managed every thing was so smooth. He is like Jinny, call his name and he is in front of you asking "what can I do for you". It was a memorable tour. β£οΈπŸ˜‡

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a private honeymoon tour?

Yes. You have your own car and driver for all eight days, and the hotel room is for the two of you. Nobody else joins the trip.

How much is the Hunza honeymoon package for 8 days?

PKR 125,000 per person, or PKR 250,000 for a couple. That includes the car and driver, seven hotel nights, the Saif-ul-Malook jeep, the Attabad Lake boat ride, the Khunjerab entry tickets and tolls.

Can we start from Islamabad or Karachi?

Yes. The driver can pick you up in Lahore, Islamabad or Rawalpindi. Couples from Karachi can fly to Islamabad and meet the driver there, and be dropped back in Islamabad at the end. Pickup is from your home in Lahore, or Islamabad / Rawalpindi. Private tours can start from any city in Pakistan: tell us where you are when you book and we will plan the pickup from there.

Are meals included?

No. You pay for meals as you go, at the hotel or in the bazaar. The price covers the car, hotels, the activities listed above and tolls.

Is the Siri Paye jeep included?

No. The Saif-ul-Malook jeep, the Attabad Lake boat ride and the Khunjerab entry tickets are included. The jeep from Shogran up to Siri Paye is not part of this package, so check the cost with us when you book.

Show 4 more questions
When is the Khunjerab Pass open?

The Khunjerab Pass has always closed to traffic from December to March. For this tour the real limit is Babusar Top, which is usually open from mid-June to late September.

Does mobile data work in Hunza?

It works in the towns but drops out on parts of the highway. Cash is easier than cards outside Karimabad and Aliabad, so carry enough for meals and shopping.

What is the cancellation policy?

A 30% advance confirms your booking. Cancel more than 7 days before departure and we refund 75% of what you paid; 5 to 7 days before, we refund 50%. Cancellations in the last 4 days, and no-shows, are not refunded.

Is there a shorter, longer or different option than the Hunza Honeymoon Package 8 Days?

Our 9-day Naran Hunza honeymoon package follows this route and adds a day at the Lalazar meadows above Naran. The 11-day Hunza Gilgit honeymoon package goes slower again, with a night in Balakot, two nights in Shogran and a night in Islamabad before the drive home.
